To update the infrastructure in the adaptation of electric vehicles, Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi has given instructions to set up EV charging stations in shopping malls as well. The Chief Secretary has instructed all departments to strictly follow the scrap policy regarding vehicles. While developing green belts between cities, CS has given instructions to plant bamboo plants on priority instead of other plants in the empty spaces between the roads and in the traffic corridors. Along with this, she has directed to prepare a clean air action plan to curb pollution in Dehradun, Rishikesh and Kashipur identified under the National Clean Air Program. CS has directed the Urban Development Department to seriously track the garbage burning activities through the task force constituted at the Municipal Corporation level and work strictly and actively. She also directed to completely stop littering activities through the activeness of Mahila Mangal Dals. Taking strict action on door to door collection of garbage, Chief Secretary Smt. Raturi has given strict instructions to maintain 100 percent door to door collection and to make arrangements for door to door collection in slums as well.
Chairing the fourth State Level Steering Committee meeting of the National Clean Air Program (NCAP) in the Secretariat, Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi has given instructions to install integrated traffic management system at main junctions and improve roads for dust control. The Chief Secretary said that to achieve the target of reducing the amount of pollutants by 40 percent by the year 2025-26, the concerned departments will have to seriously work on a concrete action plan.
Officials of Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board, Additional Secretary of related departments, Municipal Commissioner Dehradun and other officials were present in the meeting.
